Step 1 - Make An Offer

  • Determine An Offer Price
Domain name Buyers can make an offer between $100 and $25,000 USD. If you need help determining an offer price, use the Free Value Assessment tool.  You will be charged $39.00 per Certified Offer to use the Certified Offer Service. This fee is non-refundable and is charged whether the offer is accepted or not.
  • Offer Is Presented
On behalf of the Buyer, Network Solutions presents the Certified Offer to the Seller via email using the primary contact data available in WHOIS.
  • 10-Day Process
The offer is limited to 10 days so Buyers can quickly determine whether the domain name is available for purchase. The Buyer's offer is valid for a period of 10 days. The Seller may respond at anytime during this period. Under certain circumstances, a seller may be permitted to request that a Buyer reopen an expired offer.
  • Email Updates
The Buyer receives daily email updates for 10 days or until the Seller responds. Buyers will be notified immediately when the offer is accepted or rejected.

Step 2 - Seller Responds to Offer

Seller's Options
The Seller has 10 days to respond to the Buyer's offer. The Seller has the options to accept, reject or propose a minimum acceptable price. If the Seller proposes a minimum acceptable price, the Buyer has the option of making a counter offer to the Seller. The Seller has 10 days to either accept or reject the Buyer's counter offer.

Step 3 - Offer Acceptance and Transfer Process

Offer Acceptance
When the Seller accepts the Buyer's offer or counter offer or when the Buyer accepts the Seller's minimum acceptable price, the Buyer's Credit Card or Partner Account is immediately charged the accepted offer amount plus a 5% transaction fee.
The Transfer Process For the Buyer
After an offer is accepted Network Solutions will begin the process of transferring the domain name into your Network Solutions account. The transfer process may take up to 14 days to complete.

The Transfer Process For the Seller When The Seller's Domain Name Is Registered With Network Solutions

  • The Seller should ensure the WHOIS information for the domain name is up to date so the check for the offer amount can be sent to the correct person or organization. The Seller has 3 business days after the date of sale to update the WHOIS information.
  • After Network Solutions receives the funds from the Buyer, the domain name will be transferred to the Buyer. No other action is required.

When The Seller's Domain Name Is Registered With Another Registrar

  • The domain name registration must be in a currently paid status and have no other transfer restrictions.
  • The Seller should ensure the WHOIS information for the domain name is up to date. The Seller has 3 business days after the date of sale to update the WHOIS information.

  • In order to protect the identity of the Buyer and until a Network Solutions account can be established for the Buyer, Network Solutions will initiate transfer of the domain name into an account at Network Solutions in the Seller's name. A transfer request email is sent to the Seller. The Seller must approve the domain name transfer authorization email that lists the Seller as the Registrant and lists Network Solutions as the Registrar.
